Keepsake Jewellery Workshop in Brighton
Some pieces of jewellery carry more meaning than words can hold. This workshop gives you the time, space, and expert guidance to transform heirloom gold or silver into something new, something you have made with your own hands, shaped around a person or a moment that matters to you.
What to expect
Working with Gabby Leigh, whose 30 years of teaching metalwork spans everything from university level instruction to one to one studio sessions, you will be guided gently and clearly through every stage of the making process. Sessions are tailored to what you are creating and who you are making it for.
Most sessions run to around half a day. Some pieces take a little longer depending on their complexity. Gabby will talk this through with you before you begin. Most participants leave with a finished piece on the day.
These workshops are suitable for complete beginners and experienced makers alike. You will feel informed, supported, and confident throughout.
Bringing your own materials
You are welcome to bring your own gold or silver. A parent's ring, an inherited brooch, a chain that has sat unworn in a drawer for years. Incorporating metal with its own history adds another layer of meaning to whatever you create. Gabby can advise you on what is possible before your session.
Who this workshop is for
This session suits anyone wanting to mark a loss, honour a memory, or give new life to a piece of family jewellery. It is equally well suited to small groups, a mother and daughter making something together from a shared family piece, for example, or a group of friends honouring someone they love.
Individual bookings are very welcome too.
